A catch-all mailbox receives emails sent to non-existent email addresses under the same domain name. For example, an email message sent to the misspelled suport@domain.com will go to support@domain.com in case the catch-all feature has been activated for the latter. Thus, you can get emails from mates or clients who may have sent a message to your email address with a typographical error or to an outdated one, which they may still have, but you have already deleted. Just one mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be set up for such a mailbox. This is so because of the fact that at some moment you may begin receiving spam messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding limitation implies that the spam will not be re-sent to a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Website Hosting

Configuring a catch-all mailbox will be stunningly easy if you have a Linux website hosting package with us. You can activate this feature through our powerful, albeit simple-to-work-with Email Manager tool, which is an indivisible part of the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you will manage the hosting account itself. You’ll find all the email addresses that you have set up enumerated alphabetically and next to each one of them there will be a mini "Catch-all" icon, which will immediately let you know if a certain mailbox receives all the emails pertaining to a certain domain or not. With one single click on the icon you can enable or disable this feature at any moment. If there is active email forwarding or in case another mailbox has already been set up as a catch-all one for a certain domain, you’ll get a warning text message from our system. The latter won’t deactivate/replace anything automatically or without your approval.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The catch-all functionality can be enabled without effort in case you’ve got a semi-dedicated server plan with our company. All the email addresses that you’ve set up using the domains hosted in the semi-dedicated account will be shown in the Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section and you’ll notice a small icon handily situated directly next to each of them. With only one click of the mouse, you can enable or disable the catch-all option for any mailbox of your choice on the condition that there isn't another mailbox under that same domain with this option already enabled and there isn't active email forwarding. Instead, you can right-click on a mailbox and activate the feature through the context menu that will come into view. If any of the prerequisites for setting up a catch-all mailbox is not answered, our system will notify you, but will not replace or deactivate anything automatically.
